I am a salaried person owing a flat that has been given on rent. The landlord vacated my flat after 11 months of rent whereas i had declared a 12 month rental in my declaration to the employer. Therefore the Form 16 i have received contains one month of additional rent that i have not received. Consequently an additional tax on one month rent has been deducted. The tax amount works out to be around Rs 7000/-. How do i apply for refund as my employer is unwilling to change Form 16 now. What supporting will i need to prove that i have received only 11 months rent against a Form 16 figure of 12 months?

03 July 2016 while filing return fill out what you have actually received even if it varies with Form 16 just keep the receipt of rent received with the tenant signatures as a evidence
