11 May 2013 I have filled wrong Date of Credit (22-07-2011 instead of 22-07-2012) in Self Assessment Tax field due to this, I got the Order from Income tax. Can I file rectification request for the same? or I have to file revised return? Please reply

13 May 2013 Once order is passed you cannot revise your return. You should get it rectified. Submit the documents, form 26AS and challan to back your claim.

13 May 2013 If it is an order u/s 143(3), then only it cannot be revised. Intimation order u/s 143(1) can be revised.

26 June 2013 You have to file rectification as it is a mistake apparent from records which is the requirement of the Section 154. Now, if you have filed your return online then you have to file rectification online. Go to my account and there appears rectification and click it you will get everything you have to mention the processing number which is mentioned on the order which you have received.

In case you have filed physical return then in form of application u/s 154 you have to write the facts and submit it on the counter and then you have to pursue it with the clerk.
