Rectification of return u/s 154

Dear Experts,
There was a mistake in filing return (filed manually) for AY 2008-09.
I tried to rectify online, but it is not recognizing the CPC reference number. Probably, Rectification for AY2008-09 is not supported in sysem.
Can you please advise me on how to proceed for manual rectification? What form and where to submit. Currently I'm staying in Faridabad and PAN was obtained from Bangalore.

For manually filed return online rectification or process not allowed. So you should be file 154(1) rectification manually through a letter with the Assessing Office where you have filed your return manually.
Make a 154(1) rectification letter with the details of your return filling date,A.y.,ack no,income offered,tax liability and paid and the mistake what you done and for the correction request.

Can I send 154(1) rectification letter by post to CPC, Bangalore?
Actually, I'm not aware of my AO and moreover, I've moved to a different city now.

Its not possible where you filed your return of income at their only you shall file 154(1) rectification request if you at present staying at another city then you can send 154(1) rectification to by Speed post/registered post your Income tax office at where you filed your return of income.
