Receipt from grandfather to my father

hello friends, my grandfather has given some gold to my father in year 1995 and wrote on 10 rs stamp paper. but it is not notarized. is it valid ? my grandfather was expired in year 2004. and my father has gold jewelry shop.
how to take such gold in books of account ?

As per me there is not an issue regarding that, as it should be regarded as ancestral gift. U may produce a valid bill for that if u had a copy of it with u. Otherwise ur father can also claim it, being legal heir of ur grandfather. Well, I'll suggest to wait for other expert's valuable opinion.
