what is the rate of stamp duty on assignment of debt in new delhi.
kindly resolve it at the earliest as it is very urgent. and please provide me the delhi stamp act

Please take note that in Article 1 of the Delhi Stamp Act , Stamp duty for the Acknowdgement of Debt is Prescribed and the same is reproduced herein for your reference:-

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of a debt exceeding twenty
rupees in amount or value, written or signed by or on
behalf of a debtor in order to supply evidence of such
debt in any book (other than a banker’s Pass Book)
or on a separate piece of paper when such book or
paper is left in the creditors possession.
PROVIDED that such acknowledgement does not
contain any promise to pay the debt or any
stipulation to pay interest or to deliver any goods or
other property

Rate applicable One rupee

Thanks for reply but this is not the exact answer for which i am looking for . the rate of stamp duty on assignment debt in new delhi is 0.1%

20 July 2025 Stamp Duty on Assignment of Debt in Delhi

📌 Applicable Rate:
Rate: 0.1% (i.e., ₹1 per ₹1,000)
This is as per Article 23A of the Schedule IA of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, as applicable to Delhi, after amendments.
🔍 What is the duty charged on?
The 0.1% stamp duty is generally applicable on the value of the debt assigned, not on the purchase consideration.
So if the debt assigned = ₹5 crore, and the purchase consideration paid by the assignee is ₹4.5 crore, stamp duty will be calculated on ₹5 crore.

This is because the underlying value of the assigned debt is the actual subject matter of the transaction.
