16 April 2015 Dear Experts,
Can any body tell me revised rate of Service Tax is 14.3% or 14%.

Please confirm me.

16 April 2015 until now no rate is revised... old rate is in use until the notification came

and we all expect new rate to b 14.28 %

16 April 2015 The proposed rate is 14 % which subsumes sec. n higher edu. cess. Also there is an enabling provision for levy of SBC @ 2% on the value of all or any of the taxable services. Thus effective rate will be 16%. But CG may or may not levy this SBC.

17 April 2015 Anil ji... Most of the expert had said that rate wil b 14.28 %, anywz i wish it to b on lower side...

17 April 2015 The proposed levy of SBC is on service and not on service tax. That is why the effective rate will be 16%.
