30 March 2012 Can anybody please tell me from which date the new rate of service tax applicable.? whether it is 1st Apr 2012 or 2nd, as 1st April is sunday?

30 March 2012 As per my knowledge it is applicable wef 01.04.2012 because we consider date next to public holiday when we have to make payment or file return. In above case the given date for applicability of increased service tax rate i.e. 12%.
