Please help i am in a mess..... My article-ship of 3 1/2 years is already completed on paper on 08/04/2011, but due to May, 2011 exams was not able to submit the same within 1 month. Also i am serving my extension period which would get over by Sept 2011. I am working with the same organisation to complete by extension due to excess leave taken. My query is: (i) Am i required to submit form 108 along with Form 107 after completion of my normal articleship duration i.e; on 08/04/2011 or should i submit it only after my extension period is completed? (ii) Some say that Form 108 has to be submitted along with Form 107 withing 60 days of normal atricleship completion. Is it true? or should be within 30 days of completion of articleship? Please clarify its very urgent.

To address your concerns about the completion and reporting of your article-ship, here are the detailed answers to your queries:
### 1. **Submission of Form 108 and Form 107**
**Form 108:** - **Purpose:** Form 108 is used to report the completion of the article-ship period. - **When to Submit:** You are required to submit Form 108 after the completion of your article-ship period. This includes reporting the total duration of your article-ship and the details of your articleship with the organization.
**Form 107:** - **Purpose:** Form 107 is used to apply for an extension of article-ship due to excess leave taken. - **When to Submit:** Form 107 should be submitted if you have taken more leave than allowed and need an extension to complete your article-ship period.
**Your Situation:** - Since you are working to complete the deficit hours during the extension period, you should submit Form 108 **only after** you have completed your extension period and have worked the required hours. - **First Step:** Submit Form 107 at the time of applying for the extension. Ensure this is done as soon as you recognize the need for an extension. - **Second Step:** Once you have completed the extended period and all necessary hours, submit Form 108.
### 2. **Timelines for Submission**
**Submission Timelines:** - **Form 108:** Generally, Form 108 should be submitted within **30 days** from the completion of your article-ship period, which includes both the normal duration and any extension period. This is to ensure that the records are updated in a timely manner. - **Form 107:** If you are applying for an extension, Form 107 should be submitted within **60 days** from the date when you realized that you would require an extension due to excess leave.
**Specific Scenarios:** - **For Normal Article-ship Completion:** If your normal article-ship completion date was 08/04/2011 and you have completed your extended period in September 2011, submit Form 108 within 30 days after your extended period is completed. - **Delayed Submission:** In case of delays or issues, it is advisable to contact the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) to seek guidance on any special procedures or late submission allowances.
### Summary
1. **Form 108 Submission:** Submit Form 108 after the completion of your article-ship including the extension period, and ensure it is done within 30 days after completing all required hours. 2. **Form 107 Submission:** Submit Form 107 when applying for an extension due to excess leave, ideally within 60 days from the need for extension.
If you have any uncertainties or need to verify specific deadlines and requirements, contacting ICAI directly or consulting with your article-ship supervisor can provide additional clarity.
