can a CA sign on projected balance sheet ( project report for project finance purpose.

CAs should not sign projected figures. The most one can do is to state that the projections were compiled by him according to standard accepted practice and should also clearly mention that these are projections only and not audited figures.
CAs do participate in project finance by preparing the preparing the project appraisal, capacity determination through BEP analysis, flow chart preparation for work to be done including statutory compliances, preparing CMA data for bank and also helping with all legal and statutory compliances, data preparation and also in being a team of experts advising the promoters.
