hi,
I have not paid the professional tax for last 10 years.
I have received the notice from the department also to pay it along with intrest.
I heard that we can pay the previous 8 yrs professional tax @Rs 2/day of last eight years before 30 june 2012.Without any intrest
Can anyone guide me. Please reply

In which state are you located? PT act differs state wise.

You've a copy of the notification that mentions Rs 2/day??
Interest is payable @ 1.25%
& penalty could be around 10% of tax payable, however it is subject to the decision of the assessing officer.
