Professional tax in gujarat

Please guide me.
My query is regarding professional tax payments due date in gujarat. It is required to be paid by 15th of next month but my query is whether it is next month of salary due or next month of salary payment.
Please guide.

25 June 2010 Hi Hemant,

Professional Tax will deposited on accrual basis.
An example :- Professional Tax of salary for period of April 2010 i.e. 01-04-2010 to 30-04-2010, will be deducted from employee and deposited on or before 15th of May 2010, irrespective of fact that company / firm had not made salary as of 15th May 2010.
