11 May 2012 Professional tax is a commercial tax just like VAT. it is to be deducted from employees salary and to be deposited to commercial tax department. All states do not have professional tax.

11 May 2012 TDS and Profession tax are both apply at the same time

11 May 2012 TDS is related to Income tax, which is a direct tax, while professional tax is a commercial tax, which is an indirect tax.

Naturally, both will be applied wherever needed.

he also pay profession tax on salary

11 May 2012 Yes... anyways, deduction is available for professional tax paid by the employee on his salary, while calculating income from salary.
As I told, these both are different type of taxes same as Income tax and Sales tax... not able to understand that why you are asking same query again and again. Please clear your doubts, if any.

11 May 2012 and... as I said, In Rajasthan State, Professional Tax is not applicable, so no need to worry :)
