profession tax also called tax on employment
It is covered u/s 16(iii) Of the Income Tax Act.
Profession tax is levied under state Act
If the employer pays professiona taxes it is included as a part of the salary.
If the employee pays the professional taxes it is allowed as a deuction from the actual salary
