I filled my friend IT of assessment year 2016-17,in THIS ITR I mentioned nature of business as transporter, because he is running business related to transport,in last year ITR(2015-16),tax prepared as professional-others as nature of business.now IT department sent notice related to this ITR as defective.IT department needs balance sheet and P and L account.what is the solution for this.

I am doing company secretary,I not filled ITR for company secretary.i filled my friend ITR,I am now learning income tax.

You have made mistake by selecting the wrong code for your friend thats why the defective notice is received. These days CPC is issuing defective return notices if wrong codes for business/profession is selected. You have to file response to defective return by selecting appropriate code for transport business which is 712 under service sector. You have to file corrected xml .
