19 August 2015 i am going to register with Service tax dept. i am running travel agent business. i run business from my house.
So can i show business premises at my home?

19 August 2015 Yes, you can very well show the same so long as the OWNER of the premises has NO objection for using the premises as such.

19 August 2015 The only problem is landlord may not give you NOC if you have taken on rent for residence. Then Service Tax department may attack him for commercial use as giving for residence and giving for commercial is not a naturally bundled service and service tax is payable on that service which has the highest rate in the bundle of services. Means if he has turnover of more than 10 lakhs he has to charge you service tax on your rent if he allows commercial use.

20 August 2015 Well in this case house is on the name of my mother.
Then which document i have to submit ? NOC or any other proof regarding my house?

21 August 2015 NOC + say electricity bill or corporation bill (So to say that the property is in the name of your mother)
