25 January 2012 Hello Sir Good Evening.
I Have Take Service Tax No On Dated 08/04/2008. I Have Not Submit Any Half Yearly Return Till Today.I Have No Any Business In That Time Not submit Income Tax Return. Not Open A Bank Account Only Servic Tax No For Take Some Tenders but unfourtunattly I have Not Give Any Tender I Have Surrender this no in today.

Please Guide Me What Liable To Penelty in this Case.

I Belive not pay tax so you have not pay penelty . If I Am true please guide me any notifications,circullers,any Judjements.

26 January 2012 Range officer has to ensure about your "no business in past years" if you can submit documentary proof to his satisfaction, he will not initiate any penalty.

visit the R/O and discuss the matter, he may ask you to submit certain documents to ensure that there is no business since the regn. if found true they will not cause hardship.

27 January 2012 If half yearly return is not filed, late filing fee can be levied under rule 7C of the Service Tax Rules,1994. But if there is no service tax liability, the service tax officer can waive the late fee.
