17 August 2013 Dear experts

My Company (Ltd. Company) have to pay Rs 200000/- to its legal advisors whether my company have to take service tax registration as my company have to pay service tax as per reverse charge mechanism.

Advocate is a partnership firm.

Please note that my company doesn't provide any other service which is chargeable to tax. So till date i dont have any service tax registration number.

I further estimate that in future also (after this payment) my company does not provide any service which is under the purview of Service Tax.

Please reply on a urgent basis.

17 August 2013 Yes, you will get the service tax registration eventhough you are not provide any service because under reverse charge service reciever only remite the tax to the department.

17 August 2013 After the payment to my legal advisor & service tax payment to department, should i surrender Service Tax Number ???

18 August 2013 you can surrender, If you are sure that in future also you shall not be liable for payment of service tax on any service as recipient of service
