02 February 2011 i have made an payment of income tax with wrong pan .now i have received an intimation u/s 143(1) which ask for payment of income tax.now what should i do as intimation is came from bangalore.

02 February 2011 You should reply with all the necessary supportings.
Copy of
income tax challan
your bank statement etc.

With proper verification & scrutiny, CPC bangalore, will be able to resolute this matter.

However quoting a wrong PAN is an offence, you can plea with typographical & inadvertent human error.

Hopefully, the AO will not levy any penalty.
