Plz reply me..its urgent..

My Brother having service tax registration no., and he raised a bill of Rs 5 lakhs and 61800 Rs (12.36%) service tax showed separately in bill dated 31/7/2014.

Now my question is What is the maximum time limit for payament of service tax to the department???

Means whithin what time should he pay servicetax???

02 September 2014 Dear,
In case of individual/Partnership- 5th day of following quarter if payment physically otherwise 6th, if payment online

In case of company- 5th day of following month if payment physically otherwise 6th, if payment online.

But If He is nor received payament of Bill..then???

Still should he pay service tax??

02 September 2014 for service provider there is no condition of receipt of payment.He should have paid service tax according to due date only.

04 September 2014 Dear,
In case of Individual or firm, you can pay service tax on receipt basis unless your total receipt more than 50lacs for the relevant financial year.
In case of company, you will have to pay service tax on accrual basis.
