Pan surrender and tax return

20 April 2014 I am about to surrender PAN card of partnership firm. since its dissolved on July 2013.
whether its compulsory to file Tax return for this 4 months (Apr 2013 to July 2013).

If its compulsory, can I file returns after surrendering the PAN or first need to file and then surrender PAN.

21 April 2014 procedure is a bit different. you were required to inform the AO under section 176 within 15 days of dissolution. thereafter he was supposed to carry out the assessment of the income earned from 1 April 2013 to July 2013.

21 April 2014 assessing officer - check your past tax returns. I already told you to refer section 176 of the act.

21 April 2014 pls check you last return filed where you easily find the ward number and assessing officer.

then make intimation and file the return. 1.4.2013 to 31.7.2013

21 April 2014 there is only one transaction of 1000rs in these 4 months period. still I need to intimate AO and then only I need to surrender PAN. Thanks for you response.
