Please tell me if it is compulsory to have the PAN No in the proforma invoice for advance.

No... its not mandatory.

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the info. But I was told as per the CVC guidelines, it is mandatory to have PAN No on all Invoices against work order.
Can you comment on this?

Yes. As per CVC guidelines work bill should have the PAN. also CBDT insists to mention the PAN for all the correspondence in the business transactions
