Pan card - name change

Dear Experts,

My query is as follows. I have changed my name for numerological reasons from Nikhil to Nikhel Goel in December 2006 but my pan card is still in the old name. I would like to update it to my new name without changing the PAN number as certain important transactions such as house purchase which have happened between 2007-2012 are registered in the existing PAN number.

Please do suggest the best way to do this

28 November 2012 Submit Form No.49AA (For correction in PAN) with Court Affidavit for Name change, ID proof, address proof etc as if you are applying for fresh PAN.

U will get new PAN card with same number with new name.

I have 2 queries for you -

Is the Form No 49AA to be submitted online ? If so, where. if physical where ?

I am currently staying in Mumbai but the court affidavit was done in Bangalore. Is that ok or a new affidavit needs to be done ?

My ID proof like driving license etc are still in the name of Nikhil Goel, Would that be a hindrance to the new PAN process ?

28 November 2012 Yes, u can submit online.
As far as court affidavit is concerned, it is valid document if it is done anywhere in India and publication of `name-change' in gazette. No issue about this.
