old mutual fund redumption

my uncle A.S.Ganesaninvested Rs5, 000/- in Centurion Quantum Growth Fund-1993 of 20th century mutual Fund.The new name in 2005 for the 20the century was century mutual fund and now it is hdfc std life mutual fund .As he got transfered to vapi he wanted for redumption but till today he couls not trace where to contact as all were said that this folio number is not here .pl do look into this matter and suggest me what to be done if this is the situation
