31 May 2008 Can anybody give me the new notification dated 30.05.2008 for change of CST rate from 3 % to 2 %.

31 May 2008 I donot think such notification have been issued. Only a press release have been issued by the finance ministry.

There is news that the Govt has withdrawn its statement about reducing CST. The finance ministry said it would issue a revised press release later.

I have ready in todays newspaper also that CST will be reduced to 2 % w.e.f 1st june 2008.
Please keep update on this issue..

02 June 2008 Dear All,

It is now cleared from the below mentioned notification that CST rate has been reduced to 2 % w.e.f. 01.06.08.
Finance Department, Government of India Notification No.1/2008-CST-F.No.8/11/2007-ST dated May 30, 2008.

13 January 2014 CENTRAL SALES TAX (CST) REDUCED TO 2% FROM 3%
WITH EFFECT FROM 1ST JUNE, 2008
NOTIFICATION NO. S.O. 1277(E), DATED 30.05.2008

In exercise of the powers conferred by the proviso to sub-section (1) of
section 8 of the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956 (74 of 1956), the Central
Government hereby reduces the rate of tax as specified in sub-section (1) of
section 8 of the said Act from three per cent to two per cent with effect from
1st June, 2008.
