27 December 2010 Dear Experts,

I have few specific query regarding MVAT registration.
1.Is Raigarh under Mumbai region in case of MVAT?
2.Can it be shown at the time of document verification,that the Profession TAx registration is applied for or is it necessary to have the Ptax number?
3.Is it necessary to be ready with the registration fees (DD) during document verification?

1.Is Raigarh under Mumbai region in case of MVAT? - No,
2. You can attach xerox copies of PT Application.
3.Yes, as per rule DD must be presented along with all the documents at the time of verification.

28 December 2010 Hello Jitesh,

thanks for your help.I have to produce a DD towards registration fees Rs 5000/-and Deposit of Rs 25000/-.Can I produce a combined DD towards them?
The CST fees of Rs 25/- has to be paid by court fees stamp.What is the procedure towards obtaining court fees stamp?Is court fees stamp and stamp paper the same?

28 December 2010 No, you should not produce a combined DD towards Deposit & Registration Fees.
As 25 K is deposit & you have to preserve the Original Challan (Department will give you the original Challan after registration)

Registration fees original challan they will keep, you can ask for xerox copy.

Pay VAT & CST Registration Fees by DD of 5025/-. they accept the VAT & CST Reg. Fees Payment by one DD.

alternatively Court fees stamp can be obtained from sales Tax department,Ground Floor, Mazgaon
