Can my mother avail tax benefit by contributing to my(above 18 and employed son) PPF account?

15 January 2016 As per Section 80C(1)(v) contribution to Provident Fund Account standing in the name of any person specified in Sub-section (4) of Section 80C can be made.
.
Sub Section (4) of Section 80C allows any contribution made in the name of spouse or any child. Any child includes a major/minor, a bachelor/married , a son/daughter.
.
Only one assessee can avail the deduction in respect of the amount so paid.
.
The deposits can be made upto the maximum permissible limit of 1.50 lac.
