What is meaning of dearness allowance in terms of employment?? Please give me solution to my query as it is quite urgent.

Dearness Allowance (in short DA) is a cost of living allowance paid to various types of employees / pensioners which is declared on half yearly basis and will given in Jan & July every year calculated on every employees basic salary to mitigate the inflation rate on people.
