03 April 2014 what is the difference between production and manufacturing?

03 April 2014 A production can refer to "a literary or artistic work" or "a work presented to the public (as on the stage or screen or over the air)." Most often, production is used to describe a "total output" as well as the "act or process of producing" a commodity.

Manufacturing, as defined "to make into a product suitable for use," for example, when raw materials like woods and metals are manipulated "by hand or by machinery" to create something. For a product to be considered manufactured it has to be produced "according to an organized plan and with division of labor." The majority of household items were manufactured on an assembly line in a factory.
