Dear Experts,
Greetings to you,
My friend need to file their Income Tax Return for the AY 2012-13 manually. They went to Income Tax Office and fill the Manual ITR 1 Form for the AY 2012-13 and submit the same but the Income Tax Counter Officers does not accept that return.
Kindly let me know, how to file my friends Income Tax Return and get the Acknowledgement from the IT Dept.

return for AY 2012-13 is already time barred. So tax officers are within their rights if they refuse the accept the return. You need to approach the competent authority under section 119(2) for condonation of delay in filing the return. only then return can be filed
