Manpower service tax

This query is : Resolved

12 July 2013 Dear Sir/Madam,

I am working in automotive manufacture company as a accountant
I need information about service tax which is related to manpower contract
Example: the bill shown the Gross salary 1000+PF, ESI and Service Charge @ 10 % 200 = Total 1200
the service tax on the basis of this total amount
means Total = 1200
ST @ 3.09 % = 37
Total = 1237
I have a question in this bill actually service tax charges without service charges or not or service tax paid on only service charges means 10% of service charges it will come Rs. 100

12 July 2013 I think, contractor who is providing Manpower service is not a company so his has charge service tax @ 25% of 12.36%. You company shall the balance service tax liability i.e. 75% of 12.36%. Futher for calculating service tax service charge to be added.

12 July 2013 1)see generally company will form agreements with Manpower contractors all payments are need to be settled accordingly

2)As i have seen till today...Generally service charges to Manpower contractor is payable on [Gross salary and if any payment made for Overtime worked.]

3) Service tax payable on salary plus PF, ESI plus Service charges of Manpower contractor contractor.

Thanks & regards
Ganesh babu k
