Maintenance of Books of Accounts

07 June 2011 i maintain my books on tally software under excise provisions.Further note that Excise Department saying that some books like RG Registers must be maintained manually. Is this valid? Which document and books should i maintain in electronic form and manual form? Kindly resolve this query.

08 June 2011 It is not mandatory to keep RG registers manually. Request Excise Dept and insist to issue a letter in support of their demand. Probably the demand will be dropped. For detais on excise record, pls search Files section of this club.
