05 August 2011 Ours is a Air Conditioning related company. We have our line of products and we also undertake projects also. In 2010-11 our Total Value of products was around Rs.30lacs & Projects was worth 1.5crores.

Out of the projects most of the items are bought out (Voltas/BlueStar/Crompton etc)which are covered by Excise Duty and only 5% of the items are made in our factory.

Will we be covered under Excise Duty? Can anyone clarify?

05 August 2011 you have to maintained own inventory control to reflect that such goods are trading items and not manufactured by yourself, however in invoice such items should be sold "as is where is" basis without change of the commodity.

balance portion which are manufactured by yourself would be your exisable turnover. and you are eligible to avail SSI benefit.
