My company wants to enter into an agreement with its group companies in japan for licensing of technical and IPR.
Pls advise, if any approvals are required in India, prior or post such agreement.
Also,pls advise from the taxation point of view as well.
Our company will be paying royalty or technical fees.
Pls advise asap.

No approval as such are required except of course it is BANNED item in which technical know how is sought for. It will be treated as technical fees. Royalty is normally production based whereas technical fee is one time. (The exceptions may be had for mode of payment)
