Dear Sir

If the ESI Employees Contribution ledger showing a debit balance, what are the probable reasons behind it and how to begin scrutinise in such a situation?

06 April 2010 credits in the account will be on account of deduction entry from salaries and debits will be on account of transfer of the amount to employer contribution A/c for remittance.

Difference may be on account of short deduction entry or excess amount transferred to employer cont A/c.
