Late tds filing fee u/s 234e

09 December 2013 I have received a notice for late filing of TDS return. They had charged me penalty of 100% TDS deposited u/s 234E ( Rs. 24714 as i am late by 248 days which cost me 248*100= 24,800/-)

Can I do any appeal regarding my this OR Is there any other way that I have to pay less, what is demanded in the notice?

Please help.

09 December 2013 Late filing fee is Rs 200 per day and no Rs 100 per day. This is a statutory penalty and can not be waived. This is clearly mentioned in TRACES website.
