Late filling of er1 return

14 June 2014 Due to Password problem i have given application on 8/4/14 to give new PW. But he dosent give us but we have make the required tax pmt within due date so i cant file return till 30th. accordingly he has given on 3rd may 14& we have filled the return on 7th may for April 14& May 14. Now my Question is that whether we have to pay the late filling of return penalty and if yes how much.

14 June 2014 If you have file the excise return after due date then department can demand maximum of Rs. 5000/- per return.
