INCOME TAX REUTRN COMES UNDER TAX AUDIT AND FILED ELECTRONICALLY WITHOUT DIGITAL SIGNATURE FOR AN INDIVIDUAL FOR ASSESSMENT YEAR 2010-11.
ITR V SENT THRU ORDINARY POST WHICH WAS NOT RECEIVED BY CPC BENGALURU.
LATER IN OCT-2011 CPC BENGALURU INFORMED THAT ITR V NOT RECEIVED IN THIER OFFICE AND ASKED TO SEND ITR V UPTO 31.10.2011.
ITR V AGAIN SENT BY REGISTERED POST TO CPC BANGALURU IN OCT, 2011.
CPC BENGALURU AGAIN INFORMED THAT ITR V RECEIVED IN OCT, 2011 BUT STANDS REJECTED.
NOW WHAT IS THE REMEDY FOR THIS REJECTION.
BECAUSE THIS REJECTION MEANS INCOME TAX RETURN WAS NOT FILED.
PLEASE ADVISE COURSE OF ACTION.

You can not file Audited Income tax return without digital signature.

for assessment year 2010-11, digital signature was not complusory for
electronicaly filed returns in case of individuals.
If it could be filed with digital signature, then why to send ITR V to CPC Bengaluru.
Please advise what corrective action to be taken to confirm that the income tax return has been filed correctly and make it a valid return.
