Itr lost-no photocopy available- refund returned undelivered

Hello everyone,
one of my client has filed income tax return for ay 2010-11 manually. he shifted his house and his entire income tax file was lost.
we donot have photocopies.
when i checked the refund status it says that it was returned undelivered. this is because my client has changed his place of residence.
can i appy to the AO to reissue refund at his new address ??

The last alternate - to apply to the AO- should be exercised as it is the only ray of hope.
