08 September 2016 Can anyone tell me, if mr.x is currently located at saudi arabia. He is getting salary from the said country. He is citizen of india. He has also one business in india, from where he is earning some income. As saudi arabia and india have DTAA. If i talk about for any financial year, he does not satisfy the criteria of resident as per criteria given in residential status. i.e. Most part of Financial year spent in saudi arabia. He wants to the file ITR-4 to show business income.

Could you tell me ,

Whether he is resident or NR for filling ITR?
Treatment of salary income ?
He want to show the salary income in ITR-4, whether he get the benefit of DTAA? Whether salary income is taxable or not ?

2 salary income earned in Saudi Arabia is exempted.
3 Show the salary income under exempted income it is not taxable.
