Itr-1 vs itr-2

This query is : Resolved

31 July 2013 Dear Experts,
Will you clear my doubt for filing ITR for Govt. Employee having Salary income 5,80,000/- after taking exemption u/s 10.
means:Gross Salary 6,45,000/-
Exemption u/s 10 65,000/-
Net Salary 5,80,000/-
Pl. clear it.
Thanks in advance.

31 July 2013 ITR 2 has to be filed.
.

31 July 2013 Thanks Bafnaji, but some experts in this forum also suggest for ITR-1. I am still confused. in my case Exemption u/s 10 includes TA + CEA + HRA. pl. clarify it.
again thanks in advance.

31 July 2013 It hardly makes any difference if ITR 2 is
preferred. By doing so, prescribed rule of Rs. 5000 exempt income will be adhered to.
.
HRA exemption is available U/s 10(13A), Transport Allowance U/s 10(14), these all items are covered under exempt income. Prefer ITR-2.
.

01 August 2013 Thanks Bafnaji.
