Itds on goods transportation charges paid

08 May 2016 A partnership firm has paid goods transportation charges during FY 2015-16 to various transporters. Whether TDS is to deducted on the same ? Further, how can we know/certify that the said transporter possess more than ten vehicles or not ?

09 May 2016 TDS applicable on transporters if threshold limit exceeds and not furnishing declaration for not owning more than ten trucks. We can accept the declaration along with PAN copy.

09 May 2016 you have to deduct TDS u/s 194C if limit cross for payment to transport then you have to deduct the TDS and deposit the same. if transport no have PAN then you have to deduct TDS @2o%
