Is STPI necessary now?

Deduction u/s 10B (to STPI Units) is no more available from 1st of April,2011. In this scenario, is it necessary to continue into STPI scheme? The benefit of exempting of customs on imports etc., is not much for SME software companies. The fee payable to STPI and other compliance costs are avoidable;right?

Yes. STPI registration will only benefit for imports. Deduction u/s 10B will not be available From AY 12-13.
