Is rent agreement mandatory for hra (1,00,000)

I have gone through https://www.caclubindia.com/experts/is-rent-agreement-is-mandatory-for-hra-exemption-1119349.asp which was very helpful.
Could you please provide me latest details of Circular number. My current organization is asking for Rent agreement + Rent Receipts. I have provided rent receipts but dont have rent agreement.
Or is there any alternative for the same?

05 April 2016 For HRA you have to follow 10(13A) for that you need only Receipts. Rent agreement is not mandatory.
