Is mba (finance) beneficial after becoming ca?

16 December 2015 Hi all I'm a CA final student and have given my final attempt this november. I have seen, and it is a practical fact that CAs today are not good in communication/presentation/confidence (especially when we they have done articleship from a mediocre/small firm). I too many times doubt myself that after spending these 3 years in training I have lost a sense of confidence, enthusiasm and initiative. Plus there is a fear of getting a job that pays the hard work well. I feel dumb when I meet smarter people (mostly MBAs) and wish I could change my past. In CA, we are taught that MBAs are on a lower rank than CAs. This is a sheer LIE and just a hypocrite thought of ourselves being a necessity of the corporate world. We haven't seen any college life, very less entertainment, always listened and not been assertive. Coming to the point, I would like to know is MBA in finance after CA gonna help in becoming "Smart"?

16 December 2015 Smartness comes from within. MBA institute can at the most teach you the techniques to do so. You have to implement the same by yourself. It seems you are over shadowed by your colleagues, boss, parent and what not. Doing MBA from a high rank institute will definitely make a difference within you. Since you have given the final attempt, why dont you start preparing for CAT (entrance test for IIM MBA? You yourself can vet where you stand in the race.)

16 December 2015 Thanks Anmol. Somewhat you're right. But this is not only the case with me, its with most of the students who don't make it in big firms. Free advice in CA field is all we get.

16 December 2015 Let me take it further..... See, this argument went on right from 1974-75, when there was the starting period of MBA institute. It was not the time of mushroom growth of MBA institute.
The then CAs argued on many counts as rightly spelled by you in your query. (Thank you for that)

In spite of having lot of criticism by CA community, MBAs did flair and at times occupied the positions above CAs, at the helm of affairs of corporate world. HLL. ITC, ACC, RCOM, RIL and many more... you will find IIM MBAs carrying top positions.

So to say, do give it a try to attempt for IIM CAT.
