Dear Sir,
One of my client is a civil contrator. Suppose he constrcuted a structure and material cost therein is Rs. 300000/- and labour cost is Rs. 200000/-. Now he draft his invoice a follows -
Materials - 300000/-
Vat 5% - 15000/-
Total - 315000/-
Labour - 200000/-
Service Tax 12.36% - 24720/-
Grand Total - 539720/-
Whether the above format is right or not ?

yes. since his work involve both material and labour, it will apply both taxes
