Intimation u/s 143(1)

31 October 2013 My client, govt. employee, has received intimation u/s-143(1), in which demand has been created as CPC has given LESS CREDIT OF TDS. I checked 26AS, & in that statement, some of the amount of TDS is having its Status as "P" i.e Provisional, and moreover the amount of demand is equal to that much difference itself.
But client is having Form-16A for whole amount of TDS which he has claimed.

So, can i make rectification request u/s 154(1)? or should i go to AO?

If i make rectification request thn out of 3 "Rectification Request Type", which one should i choose??
viz. 1. Taxpayer is correcting data for TaxCredit Mismatch only.
2. Taxpayer is correcting the data in rectification.
3.No further Data Correction is required, Reprocess the case.

31 October 2013 But mam, in 26AS, the status is still "P". so if i go with point no.3, then still the willnot give tax credit of that amount.

31 October 2013 you supposed to for point 3 tax credit mismatch

hence point 3 will be appropriate

and it will ask you to provide total tds credits details,,you need to provide correct details as per form 26AS
.

generally you may get credit for refund if it is proper claim with in 3 months
(advised on practical experiance)

31 October 2013 please check with the relevent deductor regarding the status of his/her TDS return.

It is possible that there are errors in his/her returns.
