Interest on fixed deposits

Is there any formula to calculate interest on fixed deposits which are spread over different financial years? I am doing audit of trust now...they have fixed deposits with few banks and no tds on interest has been deducted. I have received the interest statements from the above banks as well as bank statements . Ti shoule match the interest with what???

In MS Excel thre is built in Template to calculate Interest..
Open MS Excel * go To File & New option you will get that template.
