Hi,
My company is a paper manufacturing company in Tamilnadu. Now they want to purchase waste paper from un registered dealers. The un registered dealers will not give proper tax invoice. In this case we have to pay purchase tax which I agree. whether I can claim the purchase tax paid by us as input tax credit.
Kindly help.

Payment made for VAT on unregister dealer cannot claim as input.

Dear mr.nagarajan,
As you are rightly aware of Purchase Tax.
Let me state, keeping in mind certain aspects of yours.
My opinion: Based on the Regulations, the Input Tax Credit can be claimed on the payment made towards Purchase Tax.
Hope i have clarified, in case further notion do get in touch.
