1. Can a minor obtain DSC.
2. Can a minor become member of a company?

yes minor can obtain DSC
Minor can be member in co for fully paid up shares.

Minor can't become a member per se of a company due to the incompetency to enter into a contract.
However minor can become a shareholder ,by virtue of transfer/transmission only, of fully paid up shares.

Minor can become member per se and not necessarily only by transfer/transmission.
In IPO/FPO minor can apply for share directly, even if shares are partly paid.

There is no need of case law. Just go to any DP and open a Dmat A/c in the name of minor. He will open.
