While applying as director for a company - the DIN was coming invalid due to KYC error

09 July 2024 To resolve the issue of DIN (Director Identification Number) being shown as invalid due to KYC errors, particularly where there is a name mismatch as per PAN, follow these steps:

1. **Verify PAN Details**: Ensure that the name as per PAN matches exactly with the details provided in the DIN application. Any minor spelling errors or discrepancies can lead to validation issues.

2. **Update PAN Details**: If there is a spelling error in the name as per PAN, it's important to correct this first. You can update PAN details through the income tax department's online portal or by submitting a PAN correction form (Form 49A for individuals).

3. **File DIR-6 Form**: Once the PAN details are corrected and updated, file Form DIR-6 for updating KYC details of the director on the MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) portal. This form is used for submitting changes in director's particulars including address, email, and PAN details.

4. **Document Verification**: Ensure that all supporting documents, such as PAN card copy with corrected details, are uploaded correctly along with the DIR-6 form.
